What is documented in Austin

The City of Austin Auditor reported that APD and Flock deployed 40 fixed cameras beginning in March 2024. The same audit separately reported nearly 500 Axon vehicle-mounted cameras as of April 2025; those Axon devices are not included in the 40-camera Flock count. Austin's program limits original plate-scan retention to seven days under the cited council safeguards.
